Ugh! Only 5 more actual days of "work" left in this semester, meaning days I have to travel to Oneonta and teach and/or give finals. Then there's the grading of the finals of course. My body has been protesting for about a week now. Isn't this semester over yet? Gah!
Anyway, some updatery stuff. Started Chapter 6 of Shattering the Ley and for once while I was writing the rest of the chapter fell into place in my head, so I know exactly what's supposed to happen in this chapter. I think. I always think I know what's supposed to happen, even write down notes about it, but sometimes things go off in different directions, so we'll see. But at least it feels like I know what's supposed to happen. I hope to get a good chunk of that done tomorrow, BUT . . .
I'll also be visiting a 3rd Grade class for a teacher friend of mine from the gym. Obviously the 3rd graders can't really read my books, it's not the appropriate level at all, but my friend wanted me to swing by and talk briefly about the writing process and the publishing process, so I'll do that. It's only supposed to last about half and hour or so. Should be interesting. What are 3rd graders into anymore anyway? *shrug*
Then of course there's the signing at Fat Cat Books on Saturday from around 12:30pm to whenever with
pbray.
Oh! And I have to write up some finals this weekend too. . . . Hmmm . . . it's starting to sound like a busy weekend. *sigh*
In gardening news, I planted peas, beans, and onions. Up next is corn, broccoli, and brussel sprouts.
And now for the real purpose of the post. I intended to do this on the last day of every month this year, but I see that I missed the end of March. Oh well. Hopefully this will garner a few donations and such:
***************************
I've decided this year that I will continue donating hardcover copies of my first two books to libraries. So, if your local library does not have the books, send me an email at jpalmatier@sff.net with the address for the library and, if there is one, the name of the contact person for that library. If you aren't sure if your library accepts donations, or if you don't know if they have a contact person, a quick phone call to your library should provide the answer. So send in those addresses! I'll get the books mailed out ASAP.
I intend to do this all year, and hope to provide reminders at the end of each month. Unfortunately, I'll have to restrict the donations to US addresses only, due to the postage costs outside the US being rather high.
And speaking of hardcovers, if you'd like to buy the hardcovers but your local bookstore can't seem to get their hands on them, you can always get them from me. I have . . . a few copies sitting around. *ahem* Here are the prices:
Hardcover Copies:
The Skewed Throne: $15
The Cracked Throne: $15
The Vacant Throne): $20
I'd ask that if you'd like paperbacks that you get them from your local bookstore. That helps my sales record, and all bookstores should still be able to get their hands on all of the paperbacks with relative ease. However, if you've tried the local bookstore and just don't want to have them order them (or you'd REALLY like to have signed copies), I do have those available as well at $8 each.
All prices are for US addresses. I can give you a quote for the books for an address outside the US if you send me an email with the address you'd like them shipped to and then you can decide if it's worth it.
So, if you're interested in the hardcovers (or paperbacks), send me an email at jpalmatier@sff.net with what you'd like and we can figure out how to handle the payment. (I do have Paypal.) And of course, I'd be willing to sign the copies before mailing them out, personalized even, if you want.
